Sugar.

Image
It tastes like sugar, Falling from the sky Maybe God's a baker But I don't know why He only likes sugar In certain dishes He prepares Some don't like them, The many great meals He shares. But I for one Love it This sticky sweet gift It reminds me of older times Of wishes unwished.

Caring.

Yesterday, one of my friends asked me, "How do you have so much time in your life to care about others and their lives?" The answer to that question?  No idea. But when she said that, I was overwhelmed with joy, and at first I wasn't sure why. I really do genuinely care about everyone, sometimes a little too much. And I suppose, when my friend asked me that and I didn't even have an answer, I felt kind of pleased with myself. I guess I was rather flattered. It's nice to be known as someone who cares about others.  I hope you're all having an excellent weekend!!! & Don't forget to smile. xoxo

My New Year Goals~ 2013!

Oh look, a big, shiny, brand new year filled with opportunities and events galore! OK, so here is my list of goals for this year... -Be more confident in myself. This is a biggie. Probably the most important, actually. -Do more, worry less. Also important. -Follow my heart. (Cheesy, I know, but there ya go.) -Try & learn new things, even if they terrify me to the core. -Become a better writer. This includes: improve my essay writing skills & character development especially. -Read more & make book reviews. In general, participate in the world of literature instead of hiding in my little reading corner. That's it for now, I suppose. Let me know if you have any goals or wishes for the year 2013! Have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!!! :) xoxo

Christmas Memories! ["Tenth Day of Christmas"]

On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: ten lords a-leaping, nine ladies dancing, eight maids a-milking, seven swans a-swimming, six geese a-laying, five golden rings,  four calling birds, three french hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree! x I have lots of Christmas memories, so many that I tend to get them jumbled up and mixed around. But I suppose that adds to the fun of it, doesn't it? We'll start with one of my favorites. . . It was a very windy, snowy night, as I recall. I was probably around six or seven years old, and we were all spending Christmas at my grandparents' house. There were so many of us, I had to share a bed with my younger cousin. We were both snuggled up close, (it was probably around midnight) when all of a sudden we heard sleigh bells from downstairs. We started to get all excited, we could barely contain ourselves! As far as we knew, everyone else was already asleep. After a few moments of whispering exc...
